Galatea is a replica Dutch Barge built by a host of very fine craftsmen at Piper Boats, she is 57ft long 12ft 6" in the beam and displaces 30 ton.

       Handover took place at Newark Marina on the 11th Sept 2012 where we took a few days to sort ourselves out.

       We are enjoying cruising year around and have so far cruised the rivers Witham, Trent both tidal and non tidal and the Soar as far as Barrow upon Soar. With the wheel house taken down we managed to get through Loughborough unscathed albeit rather tight through the bridges.

    Our future plans are to head up the Ouze to York and Ripon then to Liverpool via the leeds and Liverpool canal.
